The Fix
Artemis learns of Black Manta's plan to fix Kaldur'ahm. She knows that she has to do something. Black Manta leaves her to keep an eye on Psimon. Tigress knows that if Psimon gets into Kaldur's head he will learn that they are double agents. She hits him with a poison dart just as he is getting ready to go into Kaldur's mind. Psimon fights back against the drug, discovers that Tigress is really Artemis, but ultimately he is knocked out by it. Black Manta sees the fight on the monitor. He isn't sure how to proceed but Tigress has a plan. She will kidnap Miss Martian and force her to fix Kaldur.
Green Beetle has been taken back to the team's headquarters. Miss Martian is reluctant to probe his mind to see if Green Beetle is who he says he is. She doesn't learn much from the process but the others seem satisfied. Lagaan wants some time alone with Miss Martian. They head to her Uncle J'onn's apartment in Chicago. Their conversation gets a bit contentious when they get there. He wants to know what is up with her and Connor. They don't have much time to argue because they are interrupted by Tigress and Deathstroke.
Artemis clues M'Gann in to what is going on through their telepathic link. They stage a fight. Lagann and Deathstroke fight while Miss Martian does her best to make her fight with Tigress look real. Lagann proves to be no match for Deathstroke who leaves him unconscious. He puts an inhibitor collar on Miss Martian, after Tigress has "subdued" her. They take her back to Black Manta's headquarters where she is forced to work on reviving Kaldur.
Jaime talks to Green Beetle after the meeting. He is still looking for an answer to his problems. He wants to prevent the scarab from ever taking over his body again. He asks Green Beetle about how he managed it Green is reluctant to help but Jaime insists.
Black Manta unlocks Miss Martian's telepathic powers but warns her about trying anything stupid. Artemis links up with Miss Martian, after Black Manta has left the room, and they enter Kaldur's mind together. Miss Martian has a harder time than Artemis does inside Kaldur's mind, which looks like a devastated version of Atlantis. They are attacked by a ghost that looks like Tula. Artemis isn't hurt by her but Miss Martian still feels devastated by what she did and is unable to protect herself. Artemis has to take the lead, find Kaldur, and get things moving in the right direction.
Nightwing and Superboy take Lagoon Boy to the hospital. They have to physically restrain him from trying to go look for Miss Martian. Nightwing tells them about the ruse: Artemis is still alive and disguised as Tigress. Neither of them takes the news well. Lagaan flips out. Connor waits until they have left him behind before he gives Dick a piece of his mind.
The episode ends with two scenes. Black Manta comes in to check on his son, in he first one, and learns that Miss Martian is making progress. Kaldur has woken up but still isn't quite himself. Black Manta informs Tigress that once the Martian has served her purpose they will dispose of her. Impulse meets up with Blue Beetle, in the second scene. Jaime is very happy to announce that Green Beetle has fixed his link with the scarab.
Thoughts
What is Deathstroke doing working for Black Manta? I thought he was supposed to be hunting down Sportsmaster?
Jaime is a little too eager to fix his problem. I'm pretty sure that Green Beetle isn't all that he claims he is.
Miss Martian needs to snap out of it. Her friends need her to get her head back in the game.
This episode was action light but that's okay. I enjoyed seeing the plot move forward. I also enjotyed the character moments, the confrontations. On the whole I thought it was a very good episode, not my favorite but solidly good.
