Strike First
Johnny starts to train Miguel. Johnny has Miguel help him clean up the dojo. They get a visit from the health inspector who makes it abundantly clear that Johnny can't open the dojo until he meets some minimum requirements.
Daniel meets some of his Samantha's friends. He isn't impressed with them. Amanda, Daniel's wife, talks him into rethinking the approach he is taking towards their daughter's friends. He convinces Samantha to invite over Kyler, a guy she likes.
Miguel sees Samantha in school. He starts to walk over to talk to her when Kyler shows up sits down next to her. Miguel backs off.
Johnny gets a call from one of the guidance counselor's at his son's school. Bobby, his son, was caught with drugs.
Kyler has dinner with the Samantha and her parents. Daniel asks about the bruises. Kyler tells him about how they were beat up by a homeless looking guy. Daniel confronts Johnny later that night about what he did to Kyler. No blows are exchanged.
Daniel plays a bigger role in this episode than he did in the last one.
There are some leaps here that I can accept but that I can't overlook. The biggest one is Daniel figuring out that Johnny is the one who beat up Kyler and his friends.
This episode is an improvement over the previous one. Still not great but it is better. It gives me a little more hope for the next few episodes.
