Me as Well
Cal and Neri get tired of hearing Piper masturbate in her room and encourage her to go out and find someone. She does. First she tries it with a man and then with a woman. It doesn't work for her in either case. She tries calling Alex but Vause is too busy making out with McCullough to notice that her phone is ringing.
Nichols relationship with Shani, one of the ICE detainees, progresses. Red seems to sink further into depression.
Suzanne writes up what she recalls about the night that Piscatella was killed. She gets someone to give what she wrote to Taystee.
Daya gets Taystee to steal a key so that she can retrieve her phone which was taken during an inspection.
Flores gets Karla, the woman whose example she followed in the courtroom, to open up to her and help her with her case.
Caputo tries to apologize to Susan Fisher, who accused him of treating her inappropriately without naming him. He gets annoyed by her reaction to his attempt to apologize and retracts his apology. She responds by naming him on FaceBook.
Doggett discovers that she has a learning disability. She also get the backstory spotlight which is all about her relationship with her father. It was not a good relationship.
Ward finds what Suzanne wrote after Taystee throws it away in the trash can in her office. She tries to talk Taystee into using what Suzanne wrote, giving it to her lawyer. Taystee is too tired of everything to care or try to do anything.
Thoughts
Cindy wasn't in this episode. My guess is that she won't be see again until the last episode or two. Susan Fischer hadn't been seen since season two.
This episode didn't really impress me. The bits with Doggett in the present and the past felt a bit too much like a poorly made after school special. It feels like this episode was advancing plot lines but there wasn't much in the way of character moments that felt earned. There are just six episodes left, I hope episodes like this don't become the norm. I think, unfortunately, that there will be more of the same I just don't know how much more.
I think that they are trying to check off a few too many boxes as they wind down the series.
