Crash Landing on You 1.12

Episode 12

Se-ri and Jeong-hyuk avoid getting killed by Cho Cheol-gang thanks to Se-ri's quick thinking. She meets with some Korean and Chinese gangsters and puts them to work looking for Cheol-gang. Jeong-hyuk does some searching online in the hopes of discovering something about who is helping Cheol-gang.

Man-bok shares with the other about how he listened to Se-ri's employees gossip. Chi-su share with the others about how he worked as a delivery driver for a chicken restaurant. Ju-meok and Eun-dong went to an internet cafe. Ju-meok watched dramas while Eun-dong played video games. He almost met Jeong-hyuk but Se-ri came home in time to prevent Jeong-hyuk from going out to meet him.

Seung-jun tells Seo-dan about how Se-ri's father stole his father's fortune. Se-ri saw right through him (when they went on a date) but her brother wasn't as smart. Seo-dan agrees that Seung-jun should get his revenge. Se-ri and Jeong-hyuk get drunk and talk about their future together.

Se-ri's Choice opens a home furnishings department within it's store. Man-bok, Chi-su, and the other three visit the store the day that the home furnishings department is opened. They hope to finding her but their questions get them attention from security. They run out of the store but Jeong-hyuk sees them and goes after them. He catches up to them not far from the store. Se-ri hears about what happened and catches up to them. She takes them all back to her place for a meal.

The women of the North Korean village rally around the woman whose husband has been arrested. Se-Ri overhears Jeong-hyuk talking to Man-bok who is explaining that they were sent vby Jeong-hyuk's father to bring him back to North Korea. Later she tells Jeong-hyuk that it's okay if he leaves suddenly. Se-ri's parents talk about who knew she was in North Korea and what if anything they did with that information.

Se-hyeong and Sang-a meet with Cho Cheol-gang who promises to take care of Se-ri by taking her back to North Korea. Se-ri's mother visits her at work on her birthday which brings back an unpleasant memory of a time that her mother abandoned her on a beach.

Thoughts

Porkies? Three times in this episode the word porkies was used. Given the context it seems to be slang for lying. Why is it that this word wasn't used until now?

This was a long episode, almost 100 minutes in length. There are a lot of developments and I'm only 3/4 of the way through the series. There's still about 6 or 7 hours left in this show.

What comes next? How will things get wrapped up? Will Se-Hyeong and Kang-a get punished for what they are doing? I imagine that Cheol-gang will be either dead or in prison when the show ends. What will happen to Jeong-hyuk's parents if he doesn't return to North Korea?

This show is just a little too all over the place at times.
