Graveyard of the Universe

Gamilan Commander Goer is demoted and sent out to locate the Yamato.

The Yamato attempts another warp jump only to get stuck in a dimensional rift. There are lots of other ships stuck in the rift but only one of them is helmed by a living crew. It is the EX-178, a Gamilan ship.

The Gamilan's send over a negotiator who proposes a truce until they can find a way out of the pocket dimension. It is the first time that the humans have met a Gamilan face to face. They are stunned to see that Melda Ditz, the Gamilan negotiator, looks very much like a human. Ditz suggests that the Yamato could create a hole in the dimensional rift, through which the two ships could escape. The only issue is that the Yamato would be dead in the water after firing the Wave Motion Gun. It would have to rely on the EX-178 to tow it free from the dimensional pocket.

Tall Girl (2019)

This is the story of Jodi, a tall high school student. She has a couple best friends. A lot of people in school pick on her. Jodi falls for Stig, the new exchange student from Sweden, who is staying with her friend, Jack, whose long time crush on Jodi complicates things. Kimmy, another classmate, takes a perverse pleasure in insulting Jodi and starts dating Stig before Jodi meets him.

Harper, Jodi's older sister, is of average height and a winner of multiple beauty pageants. Their mother was also a beauty pageant winner. Both try to be supportive, as does her father.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 1.04

Flowers for She-Ra

Queen Angella sends Glimmer, Bow, and Adora to the kingdom of Plumeria. They are there to deliver food and other aid but they wind up getting a bit more involved than that. The people of Plumerica, led by Princess Perfuma, are peaceful and refuse to fight back against the Horde. They want She-Ra to heal their land. She-Ra tries but can't figure out how to magically heal the land. It isn't until the Plumerians see Adora, Glimmer, and Bow fighting the Horde that they join the fight.

Shadow Weaver pressures Catra to find Adora. She isn't impressed by Catra's promotion to force captain. She is convinced that Adora is key. Hordak disagrees with Shadow Weaver and pushes her to stop fixating on Adora.

The Way Out

Nadia and Alan try to fix things. They make a plan to go back and meet at the bodega (like they almost did the first time) but it doesn't work. Nadia starts having visions of herself as a young girl. Each time she sees herself she (and Alan) die.

Operation: Natal Attraction

The team is still in 1985.

Josh goes after Dr. Kronish. He has to get him on that boat with Leslie. He needs a gun so he heads to his parents home. His parents aren't married yet. It's the night they meet for the first time. He does what he can to get them together but things get mixed up. Josh pushes Gabe, his father, together with the wrong woman. Diane comes on to Josh and he likes it. He doesn't realize who she is until he calls out the wrong name in the middle of sex.

Tony has a bad experience with some food he ate. He wakes up sick. He goes back to bed. This happens several times. In between, while he sleeps, he dreams. He has lots of crazy dreams. In one he set himself on fire, on the boardwalk, in front of  a bunch of friends and associates. In the second one he watched from afar as he killed Paulie over a game of checkers. In another dream he went to see Dr. Melfi. One minute everything was normal and the next she had become Annalisa from 2.04 (Commendatori).

Before the Opening Credits: Two years ago, Batman and Blue Beetle II (Ted Kord) break into a well guarded facility while talking about their gadgets.

A Girl Crosses Over the Rainbow Bridge

The Vegans are building a base near Mount Boki Dik Observatory. Saucer Beast Gani Gani is guarding the base and creates an earthquake which destroys a house. The only survivor of the earthquake is Miuke, a young girl. Both her parents were buried in the avalanche which the earthquake caused.

Miuke is rescued by Daisuke and Kouji who get to the mountain in a helicopter and bring her to safety in a helicopter. She is still in some danger as she has a concussion. She can't remember what happened or who she is exactly. Kouji flies back to Mt Boki Dik in the TFO but abandons his search for any evidence when the area is surrounded suddenly by a thick fog.

The Swimmer (1968)

Ned Merrill (Lancaster) decides to make his way home, one afternoon, by swimming his way there. He hops from pool to pool, although there's also plenty of walking between pools. He is delusional. There is no one waiting for him at home. His wife and daughters have left. This isn't apparent at first but as the story progresses it becomes clear that people know stuff about him that makes them think there's something wrong with him.

Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons and Dragons (2019)

Directed by Kelley Slagle and Brian Stillman

This documentary tells the story of the art and the artists behind the art at TSR, the company that created Dungeons and Dragons.

Some of the names were familiar to me but many were not. The same is true of the images. Some were covers to books and modules that I recall. Other images were covers from Dragon magazine.

It was great to hear some of the stories. It isn't a perfect documentary. I think my favorite part was when they talked about the four artists and their styles. At first it all looked very similar to me but as they explained each artist's strength, weakness, and preference I started to see the nuances that separate them.

UFO Robo Grendizer 1.11

The Evil Ones Are Intercepting the Burning Sun

The forces of Vega use a solar eclipse to try and defeat Duke Fleed and Grendizer once and for all. Their plan begins with them destroying all observatories on Earth except the one run by Professor Umon. Duke Fleed and Grendizer attack the Vegan mother ship which has entered the Earth's atmosphere. The mother ship retreats and lures Grendizer into the shadow created by the moon.

Duke Fleed quickly discovers that Grendizer is powerless in the shadow of the moon. Blaki sends Saucer Beast Bari Bari to keep Grendizer from drifting out of the shadow of the moon. The Vegans try to use a beam gun to destroy Gredizer. Kouji comes to the rescue in the TFO and pushes Grendizer out of the way of the beam gun using missiles with non-explosive warheads.

Richie tries to get some support for a move against Tony. He turns to Larry Parisi's son but is unsuccessful in convincing him. He tells Uncle Junior about it and that he is planning to move against Tony anyway. Uncle Junior takes this as a sign and tells Tony.

(Before the opening credits) Batman and Green Arrow fight the Clock King. The scene continues after the credits as Jaime Reyes watches highlights from the fight on the evening news.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend 1.03

I Hope Josh Comes to My Party!

Paula convinces Rebecca to throw a party. The idea is to give Josh an excuse to come to her place without pissing off his girlfriend. Rebecca invites everyone she knows and a bunch of people she doesn't. The party starts slow but eventually picks up. Josh comes without his girlfriend and has a great time. He even ignores a text from his girlfriend during the party.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 1.03

Razz

Adora, Shimmer, and Bow arrive in Bright Moon. Shimmer wants Adora to transform into She-Ra before introducing her to the queen. Adora has a bit of trouble doing that. She manages to transform the horse but not herself. It's unclear why.

Adora chases the horse and brings attention to herself. Bright Moon's guards recognize her as a Horde soldier based on her clothing. She runs off into the woods where she meets Razz, an old woman. Razz isn't very helpful at first and just wants Adora (whom she keeps calling Mara) to pick berries with her.

House Arrest

Tony takes some advice from his lawyer. He starts visiting one of the legitimate businesses that he's invested in: Barone Salvage. The idea is to mislead the Feds as to his actual activities. Tony gets bored. He's got someone to run the business. Tony doesn't want to work.

Russian Doll 1.06

Reflection

Nadia and Alan continue to try to figure out what is going on. She stabs him in the leg, unexpectedly, just to see if she feels it too. She doesn't. She talks him into reliving his last night or rather the first time he died. He says he can't recall how he died.

El Paso

Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle) looks for his friend Tye Longshadow. The last Jaime heard Tye was running away from home but Jaime can't find a trace of him. He asks Tye's mother but she doesn't know where he is and doesn't seem as concerned as some parents would be. Her boyfriend isn't very nice. The scarab wants Jaime to use lethal force to deal with Maurice but Jaime refuses.

Future Man 1.09

Operation: Fatal Attraction

The team tries to execute Josh's plan to save Dr. Konish's extra-marital affair in 1985. Wolf has fun hanging out playing beach volleyball with some guys while he is supposed to be stealing a car. Tiger spends most of the episode looking for Wolf. Josh tries to fake some incriminating evidence that he hopes will break up Elias and Marigold Kronish's marriage. Things don't turn out as planned.

UFO Robo Grendizer 1.10

The Eagerness to His Parents

Shinishi lives with his grandfather. His parents were killed in a flood when he was young. He claims to have met a spaceman. Banta and Goro tease him about his claim, which leads Shinishi to cause Danbei's cows to stampede.

Shinishi eventually apologizes for what he did. Goro shows him around the ranch. Shinishi is quite taken by the TFO. He runs off and meets a spaceman, who works for the Vegans. Shinishi thinks that the spaceman is his friend and seems to think that his parents are up in the sky. He hopes that one day the spaceman will take him to see his parents.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Miles Morales acquires spider powers after getting bit by a spider. He witnesses the death of the original Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and meets a groups of Spider superheroes from other universes. The Spider-Heroes work together to prevent Kingpin and Doctor Octopus from destroying the multiverse.

There were a lot of moments that I loved. There were a number of moments when I laughed out loud. There was one moment that got me emotional and teary-eyed.
