Episode 9

Se-ri is forced to call Jeong-hyuk and tell him that she won't be returning. He tries to reason with her but the call is cut off. He goes home only to find that Cheol-gang and his men are searching the place. Jeong-hyuk attacks Cheol-gang and gets locked up. He calls Seo-dan to see what she had to do with his arrest. She tells him that their wedding is still on and that he will have to remain locked up until the day of the ceremony.

Jeong-hyuk tells his men, when they come to visit him in prison, to let word get out about the identity of his father. They do just that. It isn't long before word spreads to the man who runs the prison. He releases his Jeong-hyuk and gives him a car.

Se-ri is brought downstairs to see the man holding her. Jeong-hyuk's father. She incorrectly assumes that he is the father of Seo-dan. She is still there when Jeong-hyuk returns, demanding to know what his father did with Se-ri.

Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri get a chance to speak, first in front of his parents and then later in private. It becomes clear to her that they are in his parents' home. She tells him about the song she was playing on the piano. He knows it. He wrote it. He only played it the one time in Switzerland, just after his brother was killed. She tells him about how she was thinking about killing herself at the time she heard it and about how hearing it brought her back from the edge.

Seo-dan and Seung-jun meet up in a bar. She tells him about how she first met Jeong-hyuk, how they got engaged and how he made her angry. She insists on drinking. He winds up taking her home. Her mother is scandalized and buys off the elevator operator in the building to keep word from spreading.

Cheol-gang goes to the general with whom he met in the previous episode. He has photographs proving that Se-ri was taken to the home of Jeong-hyuk's parents. The general, Cheol-gang, and a platoon of men drive straight to the home. The general explains why they are there and then Cheol-gang and his men conduct a search of the premises but they find nothing suspicious.

Jeong-hyuk and his four men take Se-ri to the DMZ. Jeong-hyuk walks her to the South Korean side of the line.

Thoughts

I kind of expected Se-ri's return to the south to happen in the previous episode. I wasn't sure what to think when it didn't happen then.

I watched this episode in four evenly sized chunks over the course of four days. I think that might be the best way for me to watch shows with episodes in the 75-90 minutes range. 

What a rollercoaster. This episode really saw Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri go through quite a bit. It was good to see that they finally paid off the flashbacks to Switzerland. 

What happens next? They seem to be split up permanently at the end of the this episode but obviously that won't be the case. How will they get back together? How will Jeong-hyuk make his way to Seoul. What will happen when Se-ri is reunited with her parents and siblings? What is next for Seo-dan and Seung-jun? What about Cheol-gang?
