Terror of the Zygons - Part Two
The Doctor rushes to the infirmary but Sarah and Harry have disappeared. The Doctor asks Sister Lamont, the nurse, but she didn't see them leave. The Doctor finds Sarah in a decompression chamber, passed out. Someone locks them both in the decompression chamber while he is trying to revive her. The Doctor puts Sarah in a deep trance to keep her from freaking out. He then places himself in a deep trance and stays like that until Sgt Benton finds them and frees them.
The Zygons take Harry to their base/space ship. They explain a little bit about why they are on Earth and what their plans are before they take him to the body print room and demonstrate how they can use body prints of humans to take on human appearance.
The Doctor and Sarah return to the inn where they find that the Brigadier, and a couple of his men have been gassed. Mr. Huckle got there first. He brought something that washed ashore from the wreckage of one of the oil rigs. It isn't very big. The Doctor assumes that it is a signaling device used to summon the creature that destroyed the rigs.
The Doctor goes out for a look around. He leaves Sarah to mind the store. She has the alien signaling device. Harry, or maybe not Harry but someone or something that looks very much like Harry, shows up at the inn and takes the signaling device. He tells Sarah that the Doctor sent him to get it and then takes off running. Sarah finds three UNIT soldiers. Sarah and the soldiers chase down fake Harry.
Sarah corners fake Harry in a barn. He dies, impaled on a pitchfork that he tried to use on her, and reverts to his true form, that of a Zygon. Sarah rushes to find the soldiers. Broton, the leader of the Zygons, catches wind of what just happened and has the dead Zygon disintegrated. When Sarah returns with the soldiers there is nothing there. She returns to the inn.
The Doctor is back but has decided to go out for another stroll. This time he takes the signaling device in the hopes that it will lure out the creature. It does and the episode ends with the creature bearing down on the Doctor.
Thoughts
Broton calls the creature a Skarasen. He says that they brought it with them from their home planet but at that time in was just a larvae. He tells Harry that their homeworld was destroyed so they plan to remake the Earth into a planet more to their liking.
The Doctor still has yet to cross paths with the Zygons. It isn't clear that he even knows exactly what he is up against or who is behind the Skarasen. I don't think he even knows exactly what the creature is just yet.
So far so good with this one. It is a bit monster of the week but I'm okay with that. I like how they are allowing Harry to have his own adventure.
