The Yamato is nearing the edge of the Milky Way. The senior members of the crew are on the bridge talking about the next segment of the trip when Kodai and Shima get into a shouting argument. Shima contends that Kodai doesn't take the situation seriously enough. Shima is still processing the information he got from Yamazaki about his father. He still hasn't learned to accept the news. They both get punished for their behavior by Commander Okita.
Yabu overhears Yamazaki telling Tokugawa about what he told Shima. He passes this information on to Kaoru.
Desler has a conversation with someone over the hotline. It isn't clear who it is but he says that he would like to meet face to face next time. Cerestera and Gimill overhear the conversation, just before they meet with Desler to provide him with updates on what they have been up to.
General Domel is recalled to Baleras by Desler. The General is put in charge of hunting down the Yamato, He requisitions a top notch ship to help him get the job done. Before he takes off on his mission he sees how things have changed on Baleras and not for the better. He visits the grave of what I presume to be his children. His wife is also in the cemetery visiting the grave of their children.
Storm Leader Melda Ditz isn't seen but her rescue is confirmed by Admiral Ditz, her father. She has yet to tell him about what happened to her while she was being held by the humans.
There is talk of unification, of the Gamilas presumably unifying with some other group. It is unclear what that group might be. Could it be with the people of Iskandar? Is there another group out there that has yet to be revealed?

Aboard the Yamato, more than one crew member has come to Dr. Sado speaking of weird dreams of a ghostly woman that looks like Yuki Mori.
Shima and Kodai finish their punitive duties. Kodai has a chat with Mori. Yamamoto, who has just been released from her 7 day stint in the brig, overhears part of it. He speaks of being at peace with their situation. Shima is pulled into a conversation with Tokugawa who lightens the mood by talking about family and then talks more seriously about truth and the war. Kodai also talks to Commander Okita who talks in veiled terms about conscience and knowing when not to follow an order. Shima also talks to Yamamoto about her feelings for the enemy and how it felt to be saved by Melda Ditz.
Shima and Kodai are on speaking terms at the end of the episode just as the Yamato gets attacked.by a ship that rapidly disappears. Presumably the ship that attacked the Yamoto is commanded by General Domel.
Thoughts
What a show. I had to watch this one twice in order to take it all in at a pace that seemed reasonable to me. I picked up on most of what happened on the first viewing but there were a few details that escaped me. It also helps me to digest the contents of the episode more fully if I pause it while I am watching it and absorb what I just saw.
