Much Ado About Boimler
Tendi creates a dog that isn't really a dog. Boimler helps Rutherford test some improvements to the transporter and winds up a freak. Tendi, the dog, and Boimler are sent to Division 14, the medical mysteries division. Captain Freeman is replaced temporarily by Captain Ramsey, a friend of Mariner, is surprised to learn that Mariner is only an ensign.
Thoughts
Rutherford was in this one but not as much as Boimler, Tendi, and Mariner.
This episode, according to my research, is the first and only appearance or mention of Division 14 to date. The Division 14 ship was very dark looking. It reminded me, from the outside, a little bit of the Cygnus from The Black Hole (1979).
This was fun but in some ways it was a little too much packed into one episode. It also felt like they wrapped it up a little too quickly, especially Mariner's subplot.
