Secret of the Jewel of Four Souls Revealed
Ten days have passed. Sango is still recovering from injuries she sustained. Inuyasha is impatient. He wants to go after Naraku but only Sango knows where to find him.
Sango, feeling well enough to get out of bed, joins the others and together they explore the cave behind her village. There they learn about the about the creation of the Shikon Jewel (also known as the Jewel of Four Souls) from Tsango.
It was created by a Midoriko, a powerful priestess who lived hundreds of years before the feudal era and fought demons. Midoriko created the Shikon Jewel in the midst of a battle with a powerful demon. The petrified remains of her and the demon are still in the cave.
Myoga and Kirara return to the cave later that night, with the shard of the Shikon Jewel that Kagome usually wears around her neck. The demon that Midoriko fought comes to life and attacks them. Kirara turns into her large form but is no match for it.
All seems lost when the petrified form of Midoriko comes back to life and attacks the demon. Midoriko vanishes and is replaced by Inuyasha who defeats the demon.
Thoughts
There's some fighting in this episode but it is mostly a world building episode. I enjoyed it very much.
