Genesis of the Daleks - Part Four
The Doctor is knocked unconscious by the electric fence. He wakes up as the Kaled Dome is about to be destroyed. He unsuccessfully tries to interfere with rocket launch and the Kaled Dome is destroyed. The Doctor is set free to do as he pleases.
Davros watches the destruction of the Kaled Dome from the safety of the bunker. He acts as if he had nothing to do with it and swears in front of the assembled scientists that the traitor who helped the Thals will be found and punished. Minutes later Davros accuses Ronson of being the traitor who betrayed the Kaleds to the Thals and has the Daleks execute the scientist in front of the others.
Davros sends the Daleks to the Thal Dome to wreck havoc and kill Thals. The Doctor escapes getting caught in the slaughter with some help from Bettan, a Thal. She leads him out of the Dome. They part ways before they reach the bunker. He urges her to gather as many survivors as she can find and gather them into a fighting force.
Mutos attack the Doctor while he is working his way through the caves near the bunker. Sarah, Harry, and Severin show up and chase the Mutos off. The Doctor is overjoyed to see that Sarah and Harry are still alive.
Gharman, one of the top scientists in the bunker, tries to talk Kavell, another scientist, into working with him to stop Davros' plans. Nyder overhears the conversation and tricks Gharman into believing that he is sympathetic to the cause. Nyder convinces Gharman to meet with him later. Once Gharman has revealed the names of some of the others who are opposed to Davros' plans, Nyder reveals that he is still loyal to Davros and knocks him out.
The Doctor send Sevrin to find Bettan and join the fighting force she is assembling. Sarah, Harry, and the Doctor sneak back into the bunker but they are caught by Davros and Nyder.
Davros wants to know everything that the Doctor knows about the future of the Daleks, especially about their failures. The Doctor refuses so Davros has Sarah and Harry locked into torture machines and threatens to harm them if the Doctor does not comply.
Thoughts
How exactly do the Daleks get to the Thal Dome so quickly? Is there a smooth path for them to take from the bunker to the Thal Dome. How are they able to get around outside? I'm pretty sure that the ground is very uneven and that there is debris everywhere.
Tom Baker (The Doctor), Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith), and Peter Miles are on the commentary track for this episode.
