Release the Death Blow!
Ichigo and Madarame continue to fight. Both are extremely confident in their abilities but Ichigo is eventually victorious, after he wounds Madarame quite badly.
Chad moves from the place where he landed when he sees some commotion. A large number of Shinnigami spot and chase Orihime and Uryū. Yoruichi continues to make his way around unnoticed.
Ganju and Ayasegawa continue to fight. They fall into a pit that Ganju assumes is very deep but turns out to be just a trash dump.
Rukia wonders what is going on outside the tower but doesn't have any contact with anyone. Hanatarō Yamada, a member of 4th Division. tries to deliver food to Rukia only to discover that she has been moved to the tower aka Senzaikyū (Palace of Penance).
Ichigo uses some medicine contained in the hilt of Madarame's Zanpakutō to heal them both. Madarame is still flat on his back after he wakes up. Ichigo asks and Madarame tells him where Rukia can be found. Madarame warns him about his squad leader, Kenpachi Zaraki.
Thoughts
The story continues to plod forward slowly. I'm still enjoying it despite the slow pace. Ichigo gets the lion's share of the attention. My recollection is that Ichigo doesn't meet Kenpachi until around episode 43 or 44 but I my memory might be faulty.
