Breakthrough! The Shinigami's Encompassing Net
Uryū Ishida finishes the fight with Jirōbō Ikkanzaka by dealing him a devastating blow. He gave the giant Shinigami the opportunity to retreat but Jirōbō instead turned on Orihime. Uryū couldn't stand for that and took action.
Ichigo and Ganju finally meet up again. Both are being chased by squads of Shinigami. Hanatarō Yamada stumbles into the space where the Ichigo, Ganju, and 11th squad are getting ready to fight. Ichigo and Ganju try to use Hanatarō as a hostge but he's from 4th squad so the other Shinigami could care less what happens to him.
Chad interrupts the fight that about to begin by punching through a wall. Ichigo and Ganju take off running at that moment with Ganju carrying Hanatarō. They don't see that it was Chad who created the distraction. They later learn that Hanatarō knows where Rukia can be found and how to get into Senzaikyū, the tower where she is being held.
Madarame is about to get interrogated by Mayuri Kurotsuchi, the commander of 12th squad, when Kenpachi Zaraki, commander of 11th squad, shows up. Kurotsuchi backs off and leaves. Madarame tells his squad's commander about Ichigo. Zaraki is very happy to learn that Ichigo is strong and looks forward to fighting him.
Thoughts
The first part of this episode, like the first few minutes, felt like a repeat of moments from the previous one. There was very little to the fight between Ishida and Jirōbō that wasn't in the previous episode.
There wasn't much in this episode that really grabbed me. I can see how they are setting things up for future episodes but this one wasn't on the whole very satisfying by itself.
