Revenge of the Cybermen - Part Four
Lester gets to Harry before he can make any progress with the harness and explains to him what will happen if he unlocks it. The Doctor wakes up and agrees with Lester's assessment of the situation.
The Doctor, Lester, and Harry go after the two Cybermen on Voga. The Doctor and Harry try to use gold dust on them but the Cybermen overpower them before they can hit them with the gold dust. Lester attacks the cybermen and blows himself by up unlocking his harness. Both Cybermen and Lester are killed in the blast.
The Doctor, Harry, and Stevenson head to the Vogan control room. The Doctor gets Vorus to agree to give him 15 minutes to try and stop the Cybermen. The Doctor arrives just as the Cybermen are loading up Nerva with bombs. They set it on a collision course with Voga.
The Doctor manages to kill a couple of the Cybermen and help Stevenson to destroy the other Cybermen who have departed Nerva in their spaceship.
The TARDIS finally materializes on Nerva just in time for the Doctor, Sarah, and Harry to head back to Earth.
Thoughts
The Vogans seem very pleased with themselves at the end of this episode. I don't understand how killing six Cybermen ensures the security of Voga. For the moment they are safe but presumably there are other Cybermen out there to worry about.
This is probably my least favorite story of this season. This episode in particular was very wobbly. They raised the stakes just a little too high and failed to resolve things in a satisfactory manner.
That's it for Season 12 of Doctor Who (1963). Despite not being crazy about this story I very much like the other four stories in this season.
