Tom and Dopey are helped by Sally Lane (Lucile Brown), another undercover agent, who works for Rollins (Theodore Lorch), the brains behind the cattle rustling operation.

The Doctor and Leela explore the area beyond the barrier. They meet the Tesh who at first think that the Doctor has returned to save them. Leela points her crossbow at them. Jabel, the leader of the Tesh, uses his mental superpowers to subdue her. Two of his followers take Leela away.

The Doctor sees that they are about to kill Leela in the process of analyzing her. He objects and Jabel turns his mental superpowers on the Doctor. When the Doctor wakes up he is, like Leela, tied down and about to be fried by the analyzing equipment. He uses a mirror to cause the machine to malfunction and free them.

Star Blazers 2199 1.22

The Planet that We Head for

Admiral Ditz and his followers leave the prison planet. They come aboard the Yamato long enough to have a talk with Commander Okita and his officers. They are unwilling to join the fight against the Gamilan high command but they leave a liaison behind, Lower Storm Leader Melba Ditz.

Yuki is mistaken by the Gamilans for Yurisha Iskandar. That is why she is still alive. Noran Shetto, Yuki's escort, figures it out when she mistakes Iskandar for a moon. Mizella Celstella interrogates Yuki. She senses that something isn't right and reports her findings to Desler. He brushes off her concerns and uses the appearance of fact to call for the reunification of Gamila and Iskandar.

Episode VI

1993. Some of the shine started to evaporate off of Michael Jordan. The book Jordan Rules by Sam Smith had something to do with that. There was speculation about who was talking to Sam Smith. The finger was pointed at Horace Grant (who denied it) by some but others think there had to be more than one person talking to Smith.

The Bulls make it to the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals where they play the New York Knicks. The Bulls don't have the home court advantage so the first two games are played in New York. The Knicks win the first two games. Jordan was seen coming back from Atlantic City the night before Game 2. His past experience with gambling leads to speculation about his commitment to the team by outsiders.

Public Wedding (1937)

Florence "Flip" Lane (Jane Wyman) and her father, H. Theordore Lane (Berton Churchill), are carnival hucksters. They put on a "public wedding" in an effort to make money. Flip gets married to Anthony Burke (William Hopper), an artist they met earlier that day, in front of an audience who have bought tickets to see the wedding. Their money making scheme don't exactly work out when some of their compatriots steal the box office money. The judge who they hired to perform the ceremony turns out to be the genuine article, which adds another layer of complication to the plot as Flip is now Mrs. Burke.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 3.05

Remember

Adora wakes up in the Fright Zone but something is different. She's a force captain and a hero of the Horde. Catra is her buddy. Adora doesn't remember how she got there but she can tell that things aren't right. Catra keeps trying to reassure her but Adora starts to notice that time is passing without her noticing it.

Adora runs into Scorpia who isn't happy to see her. She's the only person who isn't happy to see her. They part ways but Adora decides later on that she needs to find Scorpia. She's the key in Adora's mind to figuring out what's going on. She also starts seeing Mara's name written in various places but no one else can see it.

The family continues to suffer internally. Kenya tries to make up with Joya but she isn't receptive. Izzy, Pops, and Kam spend a lot of time together driving a stolen cart around the resort. Drea hangs with Chloe despite her older sister's desire for some time alone with her boyfriend.

Eventually things seem to get better for Kenya (and the rest of the family) despite a few setbacks along the way. Danny survives despite getting very badly sunburned. Izzy and Kam learn to respect Pops in a way that they never have before. Chloe and Drea go through some ups and downs but seem to be on better terms by the end of the trip. 

Doctor Who (1963) 14.04.02

Face of Evil - Part 2

The Doctor and Leela return to the village which is deserted. The tribe is gone on a mission to free Xoanon, their god. The attack goes poorly. Half of the Sevateem are killed. Calib returns to the village and finds the Doctor and Leela. Calib poisons her with a Janis thorn. The Doctor gets some help from Tomas who doesn't want to see Leela die. Tomas keeps an eye on Calib while the Doctor uses an old medical device to create an antidote for the poison.

Andor, Neeva, and the rest of the survivors of the attack return to the village. Calib doesn't believe the Doctor is the Evil One, unlike Andor and Neeva. The Doctor is put to the test, which he passes, with some advice from Leela. The rest of the tribe seem convinced and set the Doctor and Leela free. The Doctor builds a weapon for Tomas, a ray gun to help them fight the invisible creatures.

Second Opinion

Uncle Junior undergoes surgery and has a tumor removed. He feels good, everyone is happy until it turns out that they didn't get everything. Doctor Kennedy, his surgeon, days they will need to operates again. Tony thinks his uncle should try a different doctor. He talks him into seeing another doctor at a much more prestigious hospital. This leads to chemotherapy and when Dr. Kennedy finds out that his patient has a new doctor he stops returning Uncle Junior's calls. Tony has to step in and intimidate Dr. Kennedy into talking to Uncle Junior, who worships the ground that Dr. Kennedy walks on

Plan Bee

Jimmy hires Andrea, an efficiency expert, to figure out why WNYX is losing so much money. She quickly comes to the conclusion that someone needs to be fired. Everyone tries to protect Matthew but in the end he gets fired.

Bill looks into getting a job in television news but it doesn't exactly work out.

Thoughts

Andrea is played by Lauren Graham.

I love the silent comedic moments in this episode.

Prison Planet 17

The humans dispose of the bodies of the dead by giving them space burials, including the bodies of the enemy combatants who boarded the Yamato.

Yuki is taken to Leptapoda, Prison Planet 17. She is attended by General Domel's widow, who doesn't know that her husband is dead. Yuki was told before arriving that the Yamato was destroyed.

The crew of the Yamato needs to repair their ship and finds a planet with the resources they need for the job. Kodai volunteers to scout the planet, which is within Gamilan territory. He unexpectedly finds a passenger in scout ship, Yurisa Isakandar.

Doctor Who (1963) 14.04.01

The Face of Evil - Part 1

The TARDIS materializes in the wrong place, once again. The Doctor has arrived in the territory of the Sevateem. He runs into Leela who has recently been exiled by Andor, the leader of the Sevateem, on the advice of Neeva, the tribe's priest. Leela believes the Doctor to be the Evil One who holds Xoanon, her tribe's god, captive. She explains to him about Sevateem and the place where they are.

The Doctor is captured by the Sevateem but Leela escapes notice. The Doctor is taken to Andor who also believes him to be the Evil One and unlike Leela won't listen to anything he says. Andor orders Neeva to say the litany, after which they will kill the Doctor and go to free Xoanon. Leela rescues the doctor and together they make their way into the wilderness where the Doctor finally gets to see the Face of Evil, carved into the side of a mountain. It looks just like him.

Moment of Truth

Everyone is back from the Crimson Waste. Glimmer and Bow get Shadow Weaver's help and launch a mission to save Adora. Queen Angella tries to stop it but they teleport right into the Fright Zone. Perfuma, Mermista, and Frosta go with them.

Catra returns to the Fright Zone with Adora and the sword. She urges Entrapta and Hordak to use the sword to power the portal. She is determined to open the portal despite warnings from Entrapta. Catra is single minded in her focus and brushes all other courses of action aside.

Entrapta sees flaws in the plan to open the portal. She has doubts about Hordak's plan. Catra doesn't tolerate her insubordination. She zaps Entrapta and then orders her sent to Beast Island. Catra tells Hordak that Entrapta betrayed them.

Kenya and Joya take the family on vacation. They fight over where to go on vacation. They eventually settle on Fiji. Kenya decides that he needs to step up his game so he pays for a private jet to fly them there. Drea warns (the viewers) that all is not going to go well. Her prediction proves to be true. 

Izzy and Kam pick on Pops. Joya lets Marquise, Chloe's boyfriend, come with them which drives Kenya nuts. Kenya has Danny keep an eye on Marquise. Drea is annoyed beacuse Chloe was always her best friend on family vacations and now she just wants to spend time with Marquise.

Remo Williams is the name given to a former New York City cop (Fred Ward) who is recruited and trained to become a secret agent for a super secret government agency. He is trained by a Chiun (Joel Grey), master of Sinanju a Korean martial art. Harold Smith (Wilford Brimley) is Williams boss and Conn MacCleary (JA Presron) is his handler. They direct him to investigate George Grove (Charles Cioffi) a crooked DoD contractor. Williams runs into US Army Major Rayner Fleming (Kate Mulgrew) more than once as he investigates the crooked businessman.

Jumper

Bill goes out on the ledge outside Dave's office to get an exclusive interview with Mike Johnson (Jon Lovitz), a man who is about to kill himself unless he gets to read a letter live on the radio.

There isn't much in the way of b plot in this story. Everything is very focused on Bill and Mike. This is Jon Lovitz second appearance on NewsRadio. His first appearance was in 3.21 (Our Fiftieth Episode). He's playing a different character this time around.

I really like this episode. The chemistry between Jon Lovitz and Phil Hartman is great.

The Experiment

Dr. Curtis Lindstrom, a scientist who knows of the aliens fears for his life. He has made public statement about the aliens. They know that he knows and he is right to fear for his life. The episode opens with an attempt on his life.

Fargo 4.11

Storia Americana

The episode opens with a montage of moments. Loy uses the ring he got from Ethelrida to make a deal with the Fadda family consigliere. Cannon keeps his word and his gang moves their contraband out of the Smutney house. Leon tries to kill Loy but he gets garroted by Opal. Happy gets gunned down by some of Loy's men at Spud's All Night. Josto kills his father-in-law to be and Dr. Harvard and burns their bodies. Joe Bulo, who is working with the Fadda family consigliere, tells Josto that Cannon is dead. Nurse Mayflower gets out on bail and is brought back to the Fadda headquarters.

Seinfeld 3.07

The Café

The woman George is dating wants him to take an IQ test. He stresses over it unti Elaine agrees to take the test for him. Jerry gives the owner of a new cafe across the street some advice. Kramer tries to avoid his mother's boyfriend.

Thoughts

I've seen better episodes of Seinfeld. There were a few good laughs in this one but the arc of it didn't really do it for me. It ws kind of obvious from the begining how things were going to go wrong. Jerry's part of the episode was the least satisfying. George and Elaine's was the high point. I never really cared for the little bits of Jerry's standup that they put in episodes of this show.

Kouji and Hayashima (one of Professor Umon's scientists) blast off in a rocket from a spot hear the Makiba Ranch. They are on a mission to start building a small space station. The plan, as Professor Umon explains, it to complete the station in three years. The professor explains this to Danbei, Banta, Goro, and Hikaru. They are very impressed.

The Vegans see what the humans are up to and decide to do something about it. They launch a saucer beast to attack the space station that Kouji and Hayashima are building. The Vegans also send minifos to Earth to watch for Grendizer to launch so that they can destroy him and his base of operations. Hayashima and Kouji head back to their spaceship when they see the saucer beast approaching but Kouji doesn't make it and winds up floating out in space without any way to get back to the spaceship.

Into the Wild (2012)

This is a documentary about the making of Face of Evil. There are a number of people interviewed for the documentary but the three who get the most screen time are Philip Hinchcliffe (producer), Mat Irvine (visual effects designer), and Louise Jameson (Leela).

The documentary opens with Hinchcliffe talking about how the story came together. They wanted to tackle an idea that hadn't been tried before: what if the Doctor returned to some place he had been before only to discover that he had an unintended affect on the locals.

Once Upon a Time in the Waste

Catra and Scorpia start to explore the Crimson Waste. They arrive in the same saloon where Adora, Glimmer, and Bow met Huntara. Huntara's discarded followers try to intimidate Catra but she turns the tables on them. They reveal that Adora, Glimmer, and Bow are in the Crimson Waste. Catra decides that they need to find them.

Adora, Huntara, Glimmer, and Bow explore Mara's ship. They find a hologram of Mara but it keeps repeating the same thing in a loop. Adora gets frustrated but then she discovers that her sword is the key. It unlocks more of the ship's information including a much longer recorded message from Mara. They learn how Mara brought Eternia into Despondos, an empty dimension, to protect it from the Horde. She warns Adora not to open a portal back to the universe because it will mean death for Eternia.

Drea says something to her father that gets him thinking which leads to him making comments about how Joya spends her time.  This in turn sets Joya off and she talks to her lawyer and her publicist (Joya is getting ready to do press for a book she wrote) about why Kenya is acting the way he is. He winds up talking to his coworkers about the situation.

Thoughts

I don't know how to sum it up better than that. The crux of the episode seems to be that Kenya feels that Joya has changed or is changing and he doesn't like what he's seeing.  The crux of the episode seems to be that she takes umbrage at him for not giving her the room to do what she wants without him commenting on her choices.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

North Carolina came into the ACC Tournament with a record of 18-9 and ranked 16th nationally. The Tar Heels were the 5th seed in the tournament. North Carolina ended the regular season with a loss at Duke by 5 points. This was Roy Williams first season as head coach at North Carolina. Williams was an assistant coach at North Carolina under Dean Smith from 1978 to 1988. He left North Carlina in 1988 to take the head coaching job at Kansas. He stayed there until he returned to North Carolina in 2003 to take over as head coach.

Georgia Tech came into the ACC Tournament with a record of 22-8 and ranked 14th nationally. The Yellow Jackets were the 4th seed in the tournament. Georgia Tech ended the regular season with a three game winning streak which included wins at Clemson, at Duke, and at home against Florida State. Paul Hewitt, the head coach of the Yellow Jackets, was in his 4th season as head coach at Georgia Tech. This was the Yellow Jackets first 20-win season under Hewitt. The last time Georgia Tech had won more than 20 games going into the conference tournament was in 1990 when they entered the ACC tournament with 21 wins under their belt.

The gang war gets very hot. The Smutney funeral home gets lots of business from the Cannon gang. Weff arrests Josto and Gaetano, but they are out on bail fairly quickly. Loy Cannon turns to Happy, Leon's uncle, for help. Josto tries to to get Weff to play ball again but he isn't willing.

Satsuki and Mei move into a new house with their father. Their mother isn't feeling well and is staying at a hospital several miles away. The girls soon discover that the house is haunted and that there is a creature named Totoro who lives in the woods near the house. Mei, age 4, is the first one to meet Totoro. Satsuki, her older sister by about 6 years, eventually gets to meet Totoro. They share a few adventures with the creature and towards the end are brought back together, thanks to Totoro, after Mei runs away.

He recognizes the green haired girl. It is Naida, a friend from his childhood on the planet Fleed.

The Parking Garage

Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are at a mall in Jersey. They are ready to leave but they forgot where they parked the car. They spend a long time walking around looking for the car. Jerry and George get fined for urinating in the garage. Elaine is going nuts because she bought goldfish and needs to get them home. Kramer is very relaxed.

Thoughts

I'm pretty sure I remember this one. It's a fun one, ridiculous but fun.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 3.02

Huntara

Adora, Glimmer, and Bow arrive in the Crimson Waste. They don't know exactly where to find what they are looking for, a portal. They get some help from Huntara, the local tough gal. She promises to take them to the center of the Crimson Waste but instead she leads them into a trap.

Entrapta's latest attempt to create a portal fails. She can't figure out what she is doing wrong. Hordak is tired of her and tells her to leave. She returns later with another idea for the portal when she notices that Hordak is sick. She tries to ask him about it but he tells her to beat it. She is persistent and he finally tells her his origin story.

David Vincent sees a UFO land in deserted field in the middle of the night. He tries telling the police and his business partner but no one believes him. He investigates further by tracking down a couple people whom he believes are aliens disguised as humans. He doesn't find them but he thinks he knows how to tell aliens from humans. It turns out he doesn't.

Kenya sees a movie, by a Black director that he doesn't like. Joya and Drea went to see the movie with him. Joya loved it. Drea did not. They try to explain to Joya what was wrong with it but they don't get anywhere.

Kenya is supposed to do a panel after a screening of the movie a week later. He checks Rotten Tomatoes and the movie is blowing up. Everyone loves it. Kenya feels as though he can't come out as hating the movie. He feels pressured to say he likes it because the director is Black. He invites his extended family over to get their opinions. They all love it. He shows it to his writing staff, their opinions break down along racial lines. Mikala and Broadway like it. Leeza, Nelson, and Jerome have problems with it.

East/West

Omie, one of Loy Cannon's men, arrives in Liberal, KS. He's looking for Calamita. He's got one of the Fadda's hired guns in his trunk, alive. They stop at a gas station. The attendant is Black. He answers Omie's questions. It is Sunday and the owners are at church. Omie offers to do some work in exchange for permission to stick around. Omie and his prisoner paint the wall of the gas station. They are talking when a vehicle drives up. The Fadda man tries to make a run for it but Omie shoots him before he makes it out the door of the building. The driver of the vehicle that just arrived in Calamita.

Maryland Terrapins vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Maryland came into the ACC tournament with a record of 16-11. The Terrapins were the 6th seed in the tournament. Maryland ended the regular season with a two game wining streak by first winning at North Carolina State (ranked 16th in the country at the time) by a point. They followed that up with a win at home over Virginia by 9 points.

Wake Forest came into the ACC tournament with a record of 19-8. The Demon Deacons were the 3rd seeded team in the tournament and ranked 15th in the county. Wake Forest ended the regular season with a two game losing streak. The first loss was at Virginia by 2 points and the second was at home against North Carolina State by 11 points.

Wake Forest swept the season series against Maryland. They beat the Terrapins at home (at the end of Jan) by 8 points and then at Maryland (at the end of Feb) also by 8 points. Wake Forest was ranked 19th nationally at the time of the first game and 11th at the time of the second one.

The Price of Power

Shadow Weaver is locked up by Queen Angella after she collapses in Adora's room. The queen won't let Adora anywhere near the evil sorceress. Adora tries to sneak into the room where Shadow Weaver is being kept. Bow and Glimmer keep Adora away from Shadow Weaver at first but eventually she talks them into helping her. Bow creates a distraction while Adora and Glimmer talk to Shadow Weaver.

Catra is locked up pending punishment. Scorpia comes to break her out but Catra chases her away. Entrapta is surprised to learn that Catra has been locked up. She tries talking Hordak out of punishing Catra. She insists that they have gained more first ones tech with Catra as Hordak's second in command but Hordak doesn't seem to listen.

Knights of Sidonia 1.12

Home

The battle continues with Gauna 542. Most of the remnants of squad 1, led by Samari, head into the breach created by Sidonia's Heigus cannon. Ren stays behind to tend to one of the injured pilots. She gives Nagate her last round. Izana also stays behind instead of following the others into Gauna 542. Nagate takes off and catches up to the others thanks to the special engine with which the Tsugumori has been equipped.

Nagate is forced to leave the others when the Crimson Hawksmoth shows up. He engages it in a dogfight in which neither one seems to have the upper hand. Nagate is eventually knocked off balance by Heigus cannon fire from Gauna 542. He falls unconscious but Izana manages to save him before he crashes and is killed.
