Mirror Gem
Pearl gives Steven a magical miror to play with, except that it doesn't seem to work when Pearl tries to activate it. Steven walks around with the mirror, talking to his reflection in the mirror. The mirror starts to repeat things that Steven has shown it.
Pearl and the others are stunned when they learn that the mirror has been communicating with Steven. They try to take it away from him but he runs off. He asks the mirror what he should do and it shows him.
Steven removes the gem from the back of the mirror and the mirror shatters. The gem trasforms into a woman names Lapis Lazuli. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl try to capture her but she fights back and escapes into the sea.
This episode didn't seem like anything too special until Steven pulled the gem off the back of the mirror. Everything changed in that moment.
It feels like the world of this show just grew a little bit. It isn't exactly clear how this episode changes things but it feels like a game changer.
