Wonder Woman 1.10

Judgement from Outer Space - Part 2

Wonder Woman recovers from the piercing sound and reaches out to the Council of Planets, using the communications equipment in the flying saucer. Gorel, Sakri, and the other members of the council hear her appeal for help but they do not respond.

General Blankenship sends Major Trevor to England to work with British Intelligence to see if they can rescue Andros, who is now a prisoner of the Nazis. Steve and Mallory, a British spy, make plans to parachute into Germany.

Wonder Woman doesn't wait for Steve. She flies to England and breaks into the castle where Andros is being held. One of the Nazis rips off her magic girdle, while she is fighting them, thus stripping her of her superhuman abilities. She joins Andros as a prisoner of the Nazis.

Steve and Mallory, disguised as German officers, sneak into the castle where Andros is being held. Someone knows the officer that Steve is impersonating and blows the whistle on Trevor and Mallory.

The Nazis grow impatient with Andros who continues to insist that he is from outer space. They are convinced that he is an American atomic scientist. They demand that he share his knowledge of atomic science with them. Andros remains stripped of his powers and hopeful that the Nazis aren't as bad as Wonder Woman tells him they are.

Wonder Woman eventually gets back her magic girdle and uses it to fight back against the Nazis and help Andros, Steve, and Mallory escape from the Nazi castle.

Wonder Woman takes Andros back to his spaceship. He suggests that she should come with him. He tells her about all the things they could see together on other planets. She declines his offer and then watches him leave. He promises to return in 1992.

The episode ends back at the War Department where Steve wonders about Andros whom he seems to consider a rival for Wonder Woman's affections.

Thoughts

There is one moment in this episode where Wonder Woman uses the whistling technique that she saw Andros use to turn on the communications equipment. I was okay with that except that when focused in on her lips they were pursed in such a way that the she would only been able to hum and not whistle.

The scenes where the Nazis chase Wonder Woman and the others through  endless corridors reminded me of something from Doctor Who where they use the same passageway over and over again but shot slightly differently each time.

This episode didn't quite measure up to the previous one. Tim O'Connor was still very good as Andros but the plot wasn't as layered as it was in the prior installment. Everyone seemed to get captured by the Nazis fairly quickly and then it felt like the only thing left for them to do was escape, which seemed to take forever.
