Countdown

Mad Stan strikes at the World Science Symposium. He's trying to wake the world up to the dangers of technology by blowing up things like the World Science Symposium. Batman shows up but Stan escapes while Batman is rescuing scientists.

Zeta and Ro, are in Gotham, when they are attacked by agents of the National Security Agency led by Agent Bennett. Zeta and Ro get separated. Zeta gets knocked out but rescued by Mad Stan who doesn't realize until later than Zeta is a robot.

Ro turns to Batman for help. He agrees to help her out after rescuing her from members of the Jokerz gang.

Mad Stan sends Zeta back out on the street with a bomb attached to his back.

Batman and Zeta find Mad Stan, on his boat, asleep. A video disc tells them what he did and how he is out for about 24 hours because he took a strong sedative.

Batman eventually finds Zeta by chance after the robot has an encounter with the Jokerz gang. Batman and Zeta trick Agent Bennett and his team thus helping Zeta and Ro to escape Gotham without getting caught.

Thoughts

This episode was first broadcast between the first and second seasons of The Zeta Project. Zeta first appeared in an episode of the second season of Batman Beyond. This episode is his second and final and Ro's only appearance on Batman Beyond. I don't believe I have ever watched an episode of The Zeta Project.

This was pretty good. There is something about generic villains like Mad Stan that brings a smile to my face. I like the whole heroes on the run vibe that I get from Zeta and Ro.
