The Phil Silvers Show 4.15

Bilko's Bopster

Skinny Sanders, a jazz musician, joins Bilko's platoon. Sanders is loud and gets on everyone's nerves. Bilko tries to get him transferred to another base until he learns that Sanders is in high demand.

Bilko withdraws his transfer request for Sanders and instead focuses his energy on finding a band for Sanders.

Thoughts

Captain Barker is in this episode but Colonel Hall is not.

Ronny Graham played the part of Skinny Sanders. I didn't recognize him but he was in a few films that I have seen including The World's Greatest Lover (1977), History of the World: Part I (1981), To Be or Not to Be (1983), Spaceballs (1987), and Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993).

Larry Storch played one of the musicians that Bilko recruits to be part of Sanders band. This is the second of two episodes of the show in which he appeared. He played a different character in his previous appearance: 4.06 (Bilko Joins the Navy).

John Boruff played the part of General Caldwell. This is the seventh of seven appearances that he made on the show and the only one during the fourth season.

This was a decent episode. It wasn't great but it was fun. Sanders' crazy ways sure kept Bilko on his toes.
