The Twin Dilemma - Part Two
Lang, the man with the gun, collapses before he can shoot. The Doctor disables his gun and places the power source for the gun in the wardrobe. The Doctor and Peri talk about what to do next. Lang said something about children in trouble before he passed out. The Doctor decides that they must go looking for them, despite the elevated levels of radiation that the TARDIS detects.
Edgeworth pushes Romulus and Remus to get their work done. They refuse until Mestor rings in and scares them into getting back to work. Edgeworth sends Noma and Drak out for a look around. They run into the Doctor and Peri who sneaked in through a door they found. Drak and Noma take the Doctor and Peri to see Edgeworth.
Edgeworth turns out to be an old acquaintance of the Doctor. Back then Edgeworth was known as Azmael and he's a Time Lord. Edgeworth doesn't cut the Doctor and Peri any slack. He leaves them there to die while he departs by transmat beam with Noma, Drak, and the twins. The transmat is rigged so that it will take some time for the Doctor to figure out how to set it correctly.
Peri discovers a self-destruct function that has been turned on. The Doctor can't figure out how to turn it off or disable it fast enough. He uses another device to beam Peri back to the TARDIS. She gets there just in time see that Lang has recovered. The Doctor does not materialize in the TARDIS as Peri expected him to. She watches in horror as the building (where they both were) blows up.
Thoughts
The Doctor can't be dead but where is he? Why is Edgeworth working for Mestor? What is it that Mestor seeks to accomplish?
There is some talk of Jaconda in this episode. I think that's where Mestor may have gone with the others.
This story doesn't feel terribly compelling.
