Ocean Gem
Steven is temporarily grounded by Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. They cancel the grounding when they see that there is a bigger problem: the ocean is gone. Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Steven, Connie, and Steven’s father take off across the desert. They travel all day and into the night until they find the water.
Lapis Lazuli is using the ocean’s water to create an extremely tall tower. She tells Steven and the others to leave. She creates watery versions of them that they fight until Steven decides he’s had enough. He uses his abilities to dispels the watery doppelgängers.
Steven travels to the top of the tower which stretches all the way into outer space. He talks to Lapis Lazuli. He learns that she is trying to get home but her gem is cracked. Steven heals her. She thanks him and then flies off on watery wings. The ocean falls back to where it was. Steven and his friends make it home safely.
This episode picks up right where the last one left off. Both episodes invite all sorts of questions. Where do the gems come from? Where is it that Lapis Lazuli is headed at the end of the episode? Does Steven now have conscious control of his super powers? Where does the story go from here?
This was a really good episode. It makes me want to watch more but I think that this is a good point for me to take a break and watch something else.
