Choose Love!

Agent Doctor Hobbes is appointed Acting Director of AEGIS. He orders Arthur and the Tick to find Dot. They agree to but Arthur tells the Tick, after leaving Hobbes' office. that he has reason to believe that Hobbes is hiding something from them. 

Arthur and the Tick get some help from Sage who takes them back to Danger Boat. Overkill calls Danger Boat and talks to Athur, Dot, and the Tick. He tells them that he's going to kill himself so that Hobbes can't force him to do anything else. He asks them not to come looking for him, but they do.

Lobstercules is forced by Hobbes to attack the Tick. Overkill, also still controlled by Hobbes, attempts to kill Dot and Arthur from a distance with his sniper rifle. Dot distracts him. Arthur destroys the remote control, thus freeing Lobstercules and Overkill from Hobbes control.

The Tick (2016) 2.09

In the Woods

Arthur and the Tick receive a call informing them that they have been selected to be part of the new Flag Five. Bronze Star, Sage, and Joan of Arc fill out the rest of the roster. Arthur and the Tick meet with Flexon, after their first Flag Five team meeting, and help him to convince Lobsterucles that they need to introduce her children to the judge in order to get her released.

Joan of Arc meets with Frank and explains what has changed now that she is part of the Flag Five. He decides that He's had enough and leaves. Arthur and the Rick return to Danger Boat where they find Dot and Walter waiting for them. Walter explains that his real name isn't Walter and convinces Arthur that he needs to contact Tyrannorsaurus Rathbone and arrange a special meeting so that they can explain what they have found, away from AEGIS HQ.

Arthur, the Tick, Dot and Walter meet with Rathbone. Walter finds Joan after the meeting and explains what he's been hiding from her. Rathbone returns to his office where he has a meeting with Agent Doctor Hobbes. Overkill observes the meeting from a distance, through the scope of his sniper rifle before pulling the trigger and killing Rathbone.

Joan!

Arthur, the Tick, and Tinfoil Kevin look after Lobstercules' offspring. They try to keep the presence of the little ones a secret from the four people who visit the apartment.

They let Flexon and Joan, Arthur's mother, in on the secret. They seem to keep Miranda (from AEGIS) from learning what's really going on in the bathroom. Superion already knows about the little ones but could care less. He's got larger concerns like his own public image.

Thoughts

I wrote a longer summary of this episode and accidentally deleted it.

I'm still enjoying this show but have my doubts as to how it will end the season and the series.

The Tick (2016) 2.07

Lei-Lo, Ho!

Arthur, the Tick, and Tinfoil Kevin figure out where Lobstercules children are being held captive. It is a call from Miss Lint that tips them off. She won't tell them where she is but thanks to Caller ID they are able to see that she is at the Lei-Lo Hotel.

Walter goes to the hardware store, comes home, and takes a call from Agent Tyrannosaurus Rathbone.

Miss Lint starts to hallucinate. Her own reflection starts talking to her about changing sides, really becoming one of the good guys.

Dot, Overkill, and Danger Boat go on a mission to capture the Duke and walk right into a trap. Overkill's bionic eyes get hacked and he loses the ability to control them. Dot almost gets blown to pieces but thanks to her precognitive ability she is able to escape just in time.

The Tick (2016) 2.06

Categorically Speaking

AEGIS has an open house. Superian shows up unexpectedly and sneaks in disguised as a civilian. Dot meets with her mother and then goes to the AEGIS open runs where by chance she runs into Tinfoil Kevin. Arthur and the Tick try to get Lobstercules released. The first step is getting in to see her.

Arthur and the Tick get the paperwork that they need to fill out and work on it. The last signature they need is from Joan of Arc. It takes a little convincing but she eventually signs the paperwork.

Dot and Tinfoil Kevin talk as they take part in a guided tour of the AEGIS building. Dot finds a picture of someone who looks just like Walter, her stepfather, Special Agent John Wu. Tinfoil Kevin explains his theories about AEGIS to Dot.

Magic Is Real

Arthur and the Tick continue to search for Lobstercules. They get some help scouring the sewers from a couple other heroes: Bronze Star and Sage. Arthur gets separated from the others and captured by Lobstercules. He finds out that Lobstercules is only committing crimes because her "henchmen" are holding her children hostage.

Joan of Arc joins AEGIS. Arthur tries to protest but he can't explain why he is opposed to her joining AEGIS without breaking the law. Miss Lint wants to become a member of the Flag Five. She decides that she is going to have to do something really impressive to secure a spot on the team.

Superian tries to explain why he carved up Devil's Tower, in a televised interview.

The Tick (2016) 2.04

Blood and Cake

Arthur and the Tick go to AEGIS headquarters with a piece of evidence. They want to get it analyzed but the lab is shut down. Everyone is focused on figuring out what to do about Superian who just carved up a mountainside to look like himself.

Dot continues to train. Overkill comes by. He's impressed by her dedication but he's down in the dumps because he still can't kill because of the promise he made to the Tick. Dot finds a loophole and orders him to start killing again.

Arthur and the Tick get Danger Boat to analyze the evidence. The Tick says something about AEGIS to CB while they are waiting for it to finish the analysis. Overkill and Dot show up. DB starts playing McArthur Park and locks all the doors. They only have until the song finishes playing. Overkill tells them about the last time something like this happened. He was outside. DB locked the boat and purged everything inside. DB has PTSD.

Hot Beige!

Arthur has a chat with Superian, in Guatemala. Dot trains by herself and then goes to see Arthur and the Tick.

The Tick talks recipes with Arthur's mother.

Overkill has a chat with Special Agent Tyrannosaurus Rathbone who suggests that Overkill take on a covert mission.

Arthur and the Tick go looking for Lobstercules. They get some advice on how to proceed from Flextron, a retired superhero. The advice eventually leads them to a gambling den. Arthur disguises himself and goes in hoping to find one of Lobsterrcules' henchmen. He does but then Ms. Lint shows up, in her new duds.

Ms. Lint claims to be a good gal now. Arthur doesn't believe her but he can't do anything about it and the Tick seems to assume that she is speaking the truth.

The Tick (2016) 2.02

A.E.G.I.S. and You

Arthur and the Tick apply to become members of A.E.G.I.S. Arthur doesn't score well on the superpowers test. He registers as a zero. The Tick scores much higher. Arthur is convinced that he is about to get shown the door but Agent Tyrannosaurus Rex understands that they are a package deal. He allows  Arthur to join provided that he keep tabs on the Tick.

Dot has a flashback in a dream to the day her father was killed. She and Overkill wake up entangled on her couch. They return to Danger Boat. Overkill is getting ready to leave town and head to Havana, Cuba because A.E.G.I.S. is back in town. He tells Dot a bit about his past. She dresses him down for getting ready to run away and then leaves.

Miss Lint makes plans to improve her game. Superian gets angry about the drop in his approval rating.

The Tick (2016) 2.01

Lesson One: Think Quick!

Arthur decides that he is ready to be a part-time superhero. The Tick wants him to go fulltime but Arthur insists on maintaining his day job at Fishladder and Sons. Overkill asks the Tick to release him from his promise not to kill anyone but the Tick refuses.

Someone has sent a drone to keep an eye on the building in which Arthur lives. Tinfoil Kevin spots it. He points it out to Arthur when he is walking out the building on his way to work. Arthur, later that morning, is forced to choose between working at Fishladder and being a superhero. He decides that being a superhero is more important and quits his job.

Dot experiences a precognitive moment. It weirds her out. She tries to talk to Arthur about it but he is too busy to listen. She goes home and finds Overkill in her apartment. They wind up drinking together while she tells him about what happened to her.

Arthur and Tick go to the bank to deposit Arthur's final paycheck. The bank is attacked by super-villainous bank robbers while they are there. The robbers get away but the Tick and Arthur follow them through the sewers but are unable to catch up to them. Arthur and the Tick arrive back at Arthur's apartment only to discover Secret Agent Tyrannosaurus Rathbone waiting for them.
