The Beautiful Assassin
Gene lands the Outlaw Star at West Virginia Spaceport on Sentinel III. Gene, Jim, and Melfina go to see Fred Luo. Gene hopes he can help them oufit the ship. Fred's prices are steep and he isn't about to cut them a bargain.
"Twilight" Suzuka arrives while Gene and his friends are still at Fred's place. She is there to kill Fred. Gene protects Fred and promises to deal with Suzuka after she leaves. Fred agrees to outfit the Outlaw Star if Gene disposes of Suzuka.
"Twilight" Suzuka catches up to Gene as he leaves Fred Luo's place. She chases him. She is determined to kill him because he stands between her and the contract she took on. They fight briefly but then Gene tricks her and pulls free her sash which loosens her kimono. He also gets his hand on her sword.
Gene sells them back to her and in return for Fred's life he offers up his own. She grudgingly agrees to the terms. Gene goes back to tell Fred the good news. It is there he learns that Fred has decided to only give them a discount. He stills owes Fred 750,000 for the gear he sold them.
This episode opens with an introduction to "Twilight" Suzuka.
This episode is mostly Gene, Suzuka, and Fred. Jim and Melfina are in it but their parts don't seem quite as important. Aisha Clan-Clan is not in this episode. Fred clearly has lusty feelings for Gene which are used for comedic effect. These moments lightened the show up but did not make me laugh.
This episode, like the last one, seems to be setting things up for later.
