The Man Who Hates Shinigami
Gin Ichimaru punishes Jidanbō for holding open the gate for Ichigo and the others. Ichigo tries fighting the captain of Third Division but Gin pushes Ichigo and Jidanbō backwards, the gate drops, and they are stuck on the outside.
Orihime uses her abilities to heal Jidanbō. Chad is reunited with Yūichi, the boy who was trapped in the body of a parakeet (in 1.05 Beat the Invisible Enemy!). The group reassembles in the abode of the leader of West Rukon. They are talking when they get interrupted by a gang riding on wild boars.
Ganju Shiba, the leader of the gang, attacks Ichigo because he is a Shinigami. Ganju hates Shinigami. He doesn't give Ichigo a chance to explain anything. The two fight until an alarm goes off indicating that it is 9 PM.
This is the second episode in a row in which Rukia has not appeared. Gin Ichimaru is the only character from the Seireitei to appear in this episode.
This episode seems to have a little more world building than the previous one. There are fights at the beginning and the end of the episode but there's a good chunk in the middle without fights.
I enjoyed this episode. It doesn't have any moments that really stand out but it was a decent episode. I'm thinking now that Ichigo and his friends aren't going to get into the Seireitei until the end of this season or beginning of the next one.
