Daegu
David and Rebecca take off for Busan. She gives him a scare after she disappears for a couple minutes while they are at a convenience store. She called Juno while she was in the restroom but lies to him when he asked her if she did.
Juno wants David, her former business partner, dead and engages the services of Gun, an assassin who isn't a part of Caddis, to get the job done.
David and Rebecca get stopped at a police checkpoint, have to abandon their can, and steal another one to get away. They wind up going to Daegu instead. David drugs Rebecca while they are sharing a drink and then checks her for weapons and her phone for messages.
David explains to Rebecca after she wakes up (unhappy over what he did to her) and calms down a bit, why he had to fake his own death. A phone call from Eunju, his second wife, interrupts their conversation. Eunju is at the train station but she's spotted some people following her.
David leaves Rebecca behind and heads to the train station. He goes after the people surveilling Eunju. He stuns two members of the Caddis team with a taser. Rebecca shows up and takes out another one. They deal with the others together. The last one is Gun.
The episode ends with them aboard the train with Eunju and Minhee, David and Eunju's daughter.
Thoughts
They introduced a few new characters in this episode: Gun, Minhee, and U.S. Senator Dawson. The senator is the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee and is in the remainder of the episodes. Beyond that it's unclear what role he will play. Will he be an ally of Juno or David or neither? It seems like he might be Juno's ally but that might just be the way it looks at the moment.
It seems like Rebecca is solidly on David's side now but I have to wonder if she isn't still secretly working for Caddis. She could have called Juno between the time David took off for the train station and the time she arrived at the train station.
This show isn't great but I'm enjoying it. I like the fight choreography and the plot. I like the way the father daughter relationship is evolving. Some of the lines are a bit cheesy but for the most part it works. Rebecca really seems hurt when she learns her father has another daughter.
