The Dakini

Mae tries to drown her sorrow with drugs. She winds up hanging out with three guys in their late teens, smoking weed with them. She propositions one of them but he isn't interested. She tries eating food, lots of food, but it doesn't help her to feel any better.

Mae finally comes to some realizations and admits some things to herself. Gina finds her and they reconcile after she apologizes to Gina. She goes out for a walk that night and runs into Elijah.

Mae goes home with Elijah, after explaining to him what's been happening to her. They have sex, she wakes up the next morning and is back where she started, at the beginning of the series.

Slip 1.06

The Girlfriend

Mae hangs out with Elijah. She goes home with him. They almost have sex but she puts a stop to that before they get very far. She spends the night with him. They don't have sex. The next day they get carryout and eat in a park. Mae sees the monk and tries waving to him but he doesn't seem to recognize her.

Elijah takes her to the museum. They have a wonderful day together. They are walking down the street that night when they happen to walk past Gina. Mae tries to ignore her friend, even after Gina calls her name. Mae finally stops. Gina has had enough of Mae's behavior, gives Mae a piece of her mind and then walks off. Elijah is spooked and leaves too.

Slip 1.05

The Widow

Mae gets dressed and goes out. She meets up with Gina but Mae's plan did not work. Gina does not remember their conversation from the previous episode. They go to the museum together but they don't go inside. Mae spots the monk. She and Gina follow the monk.

Gina is perplexed by Mae's behavior. They part ways after Mae shocks Gina by acting flip about the death of Nick, Mae's husband. Mae approaches the monk and talks to him. She thinks that he holds the key to understanding the weird journey she is on.

Mae walks around the city. She gives people money. She invites a homeless man to stay in her apartment. Mae spends the night sleeping on the street. She has a dream in which she meets and makes out with herself. Her other self starts to finger her. That's when she wakes up. She is fingering herself in the real world.

Mae meets a high school student. They talk briefly. Mae runs into Elijah. He doesn't know her but he thinks she looks familiar. He asks her out for a drink. She accepts his offer.

The Imposter

Rose invites Mae into her house. Mae is at a loss for words. Rose is not and talks a mile a minute. She has prepared all sorts of food. She shows Mae around the house. Elijah is a successful poet in this reality. Rose and Elijah want to have child. Mae is still confused until the door bell rings. It turns out that Rose thought Mae was a social worker from the adoption agency.

Mae takes off running. She scrambles over several fences in an effort to escape from Rose, who calls the police. Rose and two police officers chase Mae. She eventually evades them, for a time, with some help from Eddie, a guy she meets. She hangs out with Eddie and his sister until Rose spots them. Mae takes off running again. She escapes from Rose once again and by chance runs into Gina.

Slip 1.03

The Mother

Mae is helped by Sandy, the woman with whom Vanessa was fighting. They go into the lesbian bar from which Sandy and Vanessa emerged. They start to talk. Sandy owns the bar. Mae tries to explain why she feels so disoriented. They wind up having sex in the bathroom.

Mae wakes up and finds out that she is married to Sandy and has a daughter with her. It is their daughter Eva's birthday. Eva wants Mae to help her with everything. She gets indignant when Sandy tries to help her.

Mae has to take Eva to school the next day. She realizes she doesn't know where Eva's school is. She digs through Eva's backpack and finds something that has the school name and address on it.

Mae drops Eva off at school and then walks across the street. She knocks on the door of the house, the same house where she lived with Elijah. A woman answers the door, Rose, Elijah's wife. She doesn't look real happy but she also doesn't look surprised by Mae's arrival at her doorstep. She tells Mae that Elijah will be back soon.

Slip 1.02

The Lush

Nothing is as it was in Mae's life. She is married to Eric, a celebrity DJ, who is getting ready to go on tour. She has a drug problem in this reality. Mae tries to find Elijah, without success. She finds out that she doesn't work at the museum and never has. Gina is a part of her life but also doesn't work at the museum. She gets followed on the street by a paparazzi. She confuses Eric with her behavior. She runs into Vanessa, her boss from her former life, who doesn't recognize her.

Thoughts

I'm thinking I will stick with this show but I hope that there will be some sort of development in the next episode. This episode seemed to be all about how hard of a time Mae is having trying to adapt. It was weird but it wasn't funny, for the most part. It felt very disorienting but I think that's how it was supposed to feel. I will be surprised and disappointed if the next episode is more of the same.

Slip 1.01

The Wife

Mae feels that her marriage of thirteen years to Elijah is a bit stale. She has been supporting Elijah, who is a writer, for years. One night she goes home with Eric, a DJ she just met. She has amazing sex with him. She wakes up the next morning only to discover that the world has changed and now she is married to Eric.

Thoughts

Interesting premise. I'm curious to see where this goes. I'm not sure if I will watch all seven episodes or not. Based on what I see on IMDb it looks like Mae is the only character who is in all seven episodes. No one else appears in more than four episodes and many only appear in a single episode.
