Skin
starring Derek Jacobi
directed by Herbert Wise
Tattoo artist Drioli (Derek Jacobi), in 1913, commissions the painter Soutine to paint a portrait of Josie, Drioli's wife, on his back and then tattoo over the painting. Decades later, in 1946, after Soutine has become famous, Drioli discovers that the tattoo might make him rich.
Thoughts
This episode could stand to be restored. There are quite a few moments where the video was kind of fuzzy or hazy.
There is a twist ending but it feels a bit as if something is missing here. It felt very understated and didn't really appeal to me.
Notes
This is the first of two episodes of this show in which Derek Jacobi appeared. I've seen him in at least six films but none that I have watched recently.
Lucy Gutteridge played the part of Josie. This is the first of three episodes of this show in which she appeared.
