Charles (Ted Danson) gets a job working for Julie, a private investigator. His job is to move into a retirement community and take pictures and videos which she can use to try and figure out if someone stole her client's mother's necklace.

Charles, a widower and a retired professor of engineering, was content to sit at home and read the newspaper. He only took the job because Emily, his daughter, challenged him to find something to occupy his time outside of the house.

She calls him at the end of the episode to see how he's doing. He tells her he found something to do but then doesn't tell her the truth about what he's doing.

Major Steve Trevor and Yeoman Diana Prince fly to Argentina to make contact with Professor Moreno who has offered his latest invention to the government of the United States. The American Ambassador to Argentina meets them at the airport. He takes them to see Professor Moreno but on the way there they are pulled over by Nazis. The Nazis take Major Trevor and the ambassador and leave Yeoman Prince behind.

Wonder Woman rescues Steve and the ambassador. Diana goes to a dinner party with Steve and the ambassador at Professor Moreno's house. Nazis strike again. They are kidnapping Steve Trevor when Wonder Woman shows up. She tries to break up the abduction but gets taken prisoner along with Steve.

Stranded

A large space alien attacks the Teen Titans while they are visiting a space relay station. Robin confuses Starfire when he reacts negatively to Cyborg calling her his girlfriend. The team flees the space relay station.

The Teen Titans get split up but all land on the same planet, along with the large space alien. Cyborg's body breaks into multiple pieces when he crash lands on the planet. He relies on Beast Boy to help him locate and reassemble his parts. Raven encounters many small aliens. Starfire struggles to understand, while they are running from the large space alien, why Robin reacted so negatively to Cyborg calling her his girlfriend.

Butterfly 1.02

Daegu

David and Rebecca take off for Busan. She gives him a scare after she disappears for a couple minutes while they are at a convenience store. She called Juno while she was in the restroom but lies to him when he asked her if she did.

Juno wants David, her former business partner, dead and engages the services of Gun, an assassin who isn't a part of Caddis, to get the job done.

David and Rebecca get stopped at a police checkpoint, have to abandon their can, and steal another one to get away. They wind up going to Daegu instead. David drugs Rebecca while they are sharing a drink and then checks her for weapons and her phone for messages.

William dies. His wife Mary (Elaine Stritch) finds out that his brain has been preserved and is still alive. She learns this when (following instructions William left in his will) she goes to see Doctor Landy (Marius Goring). 

Thoughts

This is the first of two episodes of this show in which Elaine Stritch appeared. Marius Goring also appeared in six episodes of Doctor Who, all of which were part of Evil of the Daleks.

Hualin, 1997. Lu Wenzhong is drinking with Yin Hong and one of the other women at Victoria when he gets a call from Shen Mo. He goes to see her. He wants to take her back to his place. She says that she needs a book that one of her classmates have so they go there first.

It's a trap. Shen Mo drugs Lu Wenzhong with some help from Fu Weijun and Wang Yang. Lu Wenzhong promises to give them what they want after he wakes up. He tells them about a bank draft he has in his car for 800,000 yuan.

Bleach 23 / 2.03

14 Days Before Rukia's Execution

Yoruichi takes Ichigo, Orihime, Uryū, and Chad to see a friend, Kūkaku Shiba. They are stunned by the look of Kūkaku's home and the fact that she is a woman. They are surprised a third time when they learn that Ganju Shiba is her brother. Ichigo and Ganju start fighting as soon as they see one another.

Rukia gets transferred to a new cell. Her execution has been moved up. She will stay in the new cell until it is time for said execution. Renji escorts her to the new cell. He whispers to her that a Shinnigami with orange hair and a sword as long as he is tall was seen nearby recently.

The episode ends with Kūkaku giving Ichigo and his friends a glimpse at how she plans to get them into the Seireitei.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.04.06

Colony in Space - Part Six

The Doctor kicks the device out of the Master's hand before the villain can use it to kill Jo Grant. The Doctor and the Master are apprehended by the primitives and taken inside the city. The Master reveals that he already knows a great deal about the natives. They have a great weapon which could be used to blackmail worlds across the universe.

Caldwell frees Jo from the containment unit. He and Morgan take her back to Dent. The colonists are forced to get on their spaceship. Jo is ordered to get on with them. Dent doesn't care that their spaceship isn't safe enough or that Jo isn't one of the colonists.

The Master uses a gas bomb to escape from the primitives. He and the Doctor find the great weapon. The Master tries to talk the leader of the primitives into joining forces with him but it senses that the Master isn't honest about his intentions.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 2.03

The Siege

Sisko gives a pep talk to the crew of Deep Space Nine. He warns them that things are about to get worse on board the space station.

Quark comes up with a scheme to sell seats on the evacuation ships. There is a bit of a panic. Quark gets left behind (with a trunk full of latinum) after Rom gives Quark's place to a dabo girl.

A Bajoran team led by General Krim boards Deep Space Nine. They start looking for signs of life but the search is hampered by the sensors which have been sabotaged.

Kira and Jadzia find a spare runabout on one of the moons of Bajor. They get it up and running but they are spotted by Bajoran ships.

The Twilight Zone (1959) 1.03

Mr. Denton on Doomsday

starring Dan Duryea, Martin Landau

Al Denton (Dan Duryea), a former gunslinger and town drunk, gets a second chance on life. He gets pushed around by Al Hotaling (Martin Landau) until he finds a gun and proves once again that he is the fastest gun in town.

Denton knows what come next. The word will get out that he is back on his feet and challengers will come to town just to try their luck against him, to see if they can out draw him. That's exactly what happens but the outcome of the encounter with the first gunslinger who challenges him doesn't go exactly as he expected it would, thank to the intervention of a traveling salesman named Fate.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 2.03

Elementary, Dear Data

Lieutenant Commander Data and Lieutenant Geordi La Forge enter Holodeck 2 dressed as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. The plan is to take part in a Sherlock Holmes mystery but Data has them all memorized and their first attempt proves to be too easy for Data.

Data and Geordi leave the Holodeck and convene in Ten Forward. Geordi tries to explain to Data about what makes solving a mystery fun. Doctor Pulaski overhears their conversation and joins them. She doesn't believe that Data could solve a mystery that he didn't already know by heart.

The Darkroom 1.02.B

Uncle George

Burt (Claude Akins) and Margo (June Lockhart) are living off her Uncle George's disability pension checks. They look after Uncle George but after he dies Burt goes out and finds a replacement (Dub Taylor). They invite him into their home and give him Uncle George's old room, as Burt prepares to bury the original Uncle George beneath the dirt floor in their basement. They don't tell the new Uncle George about his predecessor's disability until after he has settled in.

The Colonel's Promotion

Colonel Hall is thinking of retiring after getting passed over for promotion. Sergeant Bilko talks him into giving the Pentagon a piece of his mind. The Colonel tries to get General Wakefield, an old friend, on the phone but when that doesn't work he heads to Washington to talk to General Wakefield in person.

The chaplain talks Bilko into going to Washington and working some of his magic to help Colonel Hall. Bilko does just that. He gets the colonel onto the golf course with the President, which in turn gets him a meeting with General Wakefield.

Everything is looking up until the boss finds out that one of the bodyguards slept with his wife and orders one of the other bodyguards to kill him.

Thoughts

I've seen a few of the actors in this movie in other films but nothing recently. 

I don't get why this movie gets such a high ratings. Maybe I don't have the right perspective to appreciate it. I thought it dragged. I stuck with it but I didn't feel rewarded in the end.

Teen Titans 4.07

The Prophecy

The Titans battle Slade who has powers that he never had before this season of the show. They try to figure out what the story is behind the mark on his forehead that looks like the letter S. Raven figures out what is going on but it ties back to her own past and at first she keeps it a secret from then.

The episode ends with the reveal that Raven's father, Trigon, is Slade's boss. Raven explains to the other Titans that Trigon is coming and that she is supposed to help him.

The Long Season 1.09

Episode 9

Hualin, 2016. Wang Xiang makes a mess of his relationship with Li Qiaoyun. He brings up the fact that she used to work at Victoria. He wants to ask her if she knew Shen Mo but she reads something else into his questions and thinks he is looking down on her.

Ma Desheng goes to see one of his former coworkers he spots Shen Dongliang. He talks to Li Qun another former coworker who has risen in the ranks of the police department. Ma Desheng wants to look at the police files for the murder case of Shen Mo. Li Qun flatly refuses to let him look at the file.

Butterfly 1.01

Pilot

David Jung (Daniel Dae Kim) comes out of hiding and interferes with an operation mounted by Caddis, a private intelligence firm, in Seoul, Korea. Jung, the founder of Caddis, faked his own death nine years earlier and has been in hiding ever since.

Rebecca (Reina Hardesty), an assassin and the point operative in the mission that David interfered with, is David's daughter. She didn't know that he was still alive. She chases him to coordinates that she found in a Caddis vehicle that he stole and then abandoned.

Rebecca doesn't know who she is following until she finally catches up to him. David explains that he's there to get her away from Caddis. The episode ends with her killing another Caddis operative when he pulls his gun on her father.

Bleach 22 / 2.02

The Man Who Hates Shinigami

Gin Ichimaru punishes Jidanbō for holding open the gate for Ichigo and the others. Ichigo tries fighting the captain of Third Division but Gin pushes Ichigo and Jidanbō backwards, the gate drops, and they are stuck on the outside.

Orihime uses her abilities to heal Jidanbō. Chad is reunited with Yūichi, the boy who was trapped in the body of a parakeet (in 1.05 Beat the Invisible Enemy!). The group reassembles in the abode of the leader of West Rukon. They are talking when they get interrupted by a gang riding on wild boars.

Ganju Shiba, the leader of the gang, attacks Ichigo because he is a Shinigami. Ganju hates Shinigami. He doesn't give Ichigo a chance to explain anything. The two fight until an alarm goes off indicating that it is 9 PM.

An unnamed East Asian nation uses the latest in medical science to alter one of their agents so that he looks exactly like William Selby, a candidate for President of the United States of America. The Selby substitute kills the real Selby and takes his place. The real Selby's features (face, fingerprints) are changed so that his body cannot be properly identified.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.04.05

Colony in Space - Part Five

The colonists gain the upper hand in the shootout with the IMC guards. The colonists take them prisoner and confiscate their weapons. The IMC guards are taken back to their ship and ordered to leave the planet immediately.

The Doctor tries to convince the colonists not to trust the Master. The Master turns it around on the Doctor and suggests that the colonists should ask the Doctor for his credentials. Ashe meets with the Master while the Doctor and Jo seek out the Master's TARDIS.

The IMC spaceship returns to the planet soon after it leaves, once Dent has proof that the Master is not really the Adjudicator. They land a few hours march from the colonists camp. They make plans to overpower the colonists once night falls.

The cast of characters includes a young version of himself (Seth Green), his mother (Julie Kavner) and father (Michael Tucker), his Aunt Bea (Diane Wiest), and lots of other relatives who live in the same house as them.

Joe also tells stories about Sally White (Mia Farrow) who doesn't cross paths with Joe and his family. She starts out as a cigarette girl at a prominent nightclub and rises to become a singer and performer on radio.

The Twilight Zone (1959) 1.02

One for the Angels

Salesman Lou Bookman (Ed Wynn) recieves a visit from Death (Murray Hamilton) a few hours before he is scheduled to die. Lou makes a deal with Death that buys him more time but when Death learns he's been tricked he picks an 8-year-old little girl to die in Lou's place at midnight.

Lou keeps Death occupied with a sales pitch after sales pitch until midnight has passed and Death has missed his appointment.

Attack on Titan 1.13

Primal Desire: The Struggle for Trost, Part 9

Eren finally moves the boulder and fills in the hole in the wall. Members of the city guard cover his back while he completes his mission. Some of them get killed. After the wall is plugged the guards with some help from the scout regiment hunt down and kill the remaining Titans within the wall. Two of the smaller Titans are captured still alive.

Eren wakes up chained to a bed in a jail cell. He is interrogated by a couple commanders from the Scout Regiment. The want to know what his intentions are. They decide to accept him into the Scout Regiment.

Thoughts

This episode wasn't terribly different from the others in this series up to this point. This is the end of this arc. It seems like a good point for me to stop watching. I don't see myself coming back to this series. It just doesn't do it for me. It seems very repetitive and there isn't enough in the way of meaningful character moments to satisfy me.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 2.02

The Circle

Kira departs Deep Space Nine and accepts an invitation from Vedek Bareil to stay at his order's monastery. Li Nalas takes over Kira's role on Deep Space Nine. Kira has a vision after looking into the Orb of Prophecy and Change. She seems to have trouble processing the contents of the vision but she keeps it to herself. She tries to find a place for herself in the monastery but it doesn't feel like the right place for her to be.

Odo and Quark work together to track down the source of arms that are being smuggled to Bajor. The source turns out to be Cardassian in origin. Odo suspects that the Bajorans receiving the weapons don't realize who is selling them the weapons as they are going through a middleman.

Teen Titans 4.06

Troq

The Teen Titans meet Val-Yor, a hero from another planet. They watch him defeat two Locrix, alien robots, singlehandedly and then go with him into space to help him fight more robots. He's nice to all the Titans, except Starfire. He looks down on her because she is a Tamaranean. He calls her Troq.

Thoughts

The story in this episode was adapted from a story of the same name that was published in Haunt of Fear 21 (Oct 1953). The comic book story was written by Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein and illustrated by Jack Davis.

A Model Family 1.10

Episode 10

Dong-ha goes home, after witnessing the brutal murder of Kang-jun. The police are all over his place digging up the backyard. They don't find anything. Joo-hyun swears that she will get him for this no matter where he moved the bodies. Dong-ha finds out, after the police have all left, that Deuk-soo moved the bodies to the yard next door.

Joo-hyun gets a picture sent to her the next day. It is of the yard next door. She finds the spot where the bodies were moved and digs up enough of Han-cheol's body to identify him. Lieutenant Moon stops by the house while she is out. Yun-seok is the only one there. She kills him unaware that he had the audio recorder on his iPhone on before going out to greet her.

Bleach 21 / 2.01

Enter! The World of the Shinigami

Ichigo, Yoruichi, Chad, Orihime, and Ishida arrive in the Soul Society. Yoruichi tries to give them the lay of the land but Ichigo ignores him and goes straight for the Seireitei, the area where the Soul Reapers live. He finds himself face to face with Jidanbō, a giant who guards one of the four gates into the Seireitei. 

Jidanbō tries to strike Ichigo down, unsuccessfully. He takes many swings at Ichigo but Ichigo stops them all and barely breaks a sweat. Ichigo tires of Jidanbō and breaks the giant’s axes. Jidanbō is so impressed that he lifts the gate for then to pass.

Once the gate is open they find the way forward is blocked by Gin Ichimaru, the Captain of 3rd Division.

Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat

Mrs. Bixby goes to see the Colonel, her lover, as she does on a quarterly basis. She tells her husband that she is going to see her Aunt Maude as she does every three months. Her husband suspects nothing. She has a lovely weekend with her lover, the Colonel.

He gifts her a mink coat at the last minute, as she about to catch an airplane. He tells her that it is time for them to end their relationship. The mink coat is a parting gift. She doesn't know what to do with it because it will make her husband suspicious.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 1.10

Haven

The Enterprise approaches the planet Haven. Commander Riker is summoned to Transporter Room 3 in time to see a wedding present for Counselor Troi beamed aboard.

Deanna shares the news (with Captain Picard) that she is about to get married. It is an arranged marriage that was agreed upon years ago when Deanna and her husband to be were much younger. Wyatt Miller (the groom), his parents, and Lwaxana Troi (Deanna’s mother) beam aboard.

Solar Opposites 1.08

Retrace-Your-Step-Alizer

Terry and Korvo use time traveling shoes (Retrace-Your-Step-Alizers) to go back in time two years so that they can find Korvo's wallet. The trip takes them back to planet Schlorp. They get Korvo's wallet but wind up changing history. This leads them back to the past to try and undo what they just did but things don't work out exactly as planned.

Yumyulack finds out that Jesse has made a simulation of him (Funyulack) that is much nicer than he is. This leads him to want to be nicer to Jesse. He tries to learn from Funyulack but Funyulack turns on Yumyulack just as it seems that Yumyulack is making progress.

The Pupa  goes on a mind bending adventure.

Don't Come Back Alive

Frank comes up with a scheme to fool the insurance company. He talks his wife into going into hiding. If she isn't found after seven years she will be declared legally dead and he can collect the insurance money, $25,000. Once he has the money they can reunite and move somewhere else. That's his plan.

Armand (Robin Williams) tries to put on a good front for Val, his son, when Barbara, Val's fiancée, and her parents come to visit. Barbara's parents, U.S. Senator Keeley (Gene Hackman) and his wife Louise, are in the midst of a crisis because one of the Senator's allies was just found dead with an underage prostitute.

Barbara's parents hope that a wedding will distract the press who are all over them at the moment. Armand who has been in a committed relationship with Albert (Nathan Lane) for 20 years has to move fast in order to get Albert and their home cleaned up before Barbara's parents arrive.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.04.04

Colony in Space - Part Four

The Doctor goes looking for Jo despite a warning from Ashe. He finds her but the primitives won't let her go. The Doctor and Jo escape temporarily but are recaptured before escaping from the subterranean city. They are taken to the leader who decides to let them go.

The adjudicator shows up while the Doctor is rescuing Jo. He hears the case and is about to render his decision when the Doctor and Jo return. They are surprised to discover that the adjudicator is none other than the Master. The Doctor and the Master talk after which the Master gives his decision. He finds in favor of IMC.

Ashe thinks that they should appeal the case but cooler heads do not prevail. Most of the colonists, led by Winton, set a trap for the IMC goons. A firefight breaks out between the two sides. The Master pulls a gun out, while the shooting is still going on and gets ready to kill the Doctor and Jo.

Attack on Titan 1.12

Wound: The Struggle for Trost, Part 8

Eren goes crashing to the ground in Titan form. He sits there in a daze while the guards around him debate how to proceed next. Armin hears that things aren't going well and goes looking for Eren. He finds him and tries talking sense to him. Finally at the end of the episode Eren starts to emerge from the funk that has been consuming him.

Thoughts

Very little happened in this episode. I get the impression that's how this show operates. I'm going to watch the next episode because its the last one in this arc but then I think I will move on watch something else and probably not return to this show.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 2.01

The Homecoming

Quark passes a Bajoran earring on to Major Kira Nerys. She identifies it as belonging to Li Nalas, a leader of the Bajoran resistance who was reported killed in action and hasn’t been seen in years. The earing came from Cardassia IV, according to the person who gave it to Quark. Kira asks Commander Sisko for a runabout so that she can go to Cardassia IV and rescue Li Nalas.

Sisko consults with Dax about Kira’s request. He decides to let Kira take a runabout but he insists that Chief O’Brien go with her. Nerys and O’Brien make it to Cadassia IV and rescue Li Nalas and several other Bajoran prisoners. Gul Dukat contacts Commander Sisko and apologizes for the incident and agree to return a few more prisoners who were unable to make it on to the runabout.

The Orville 2.14

The Road Not Taken

Ed and Gordon, on the run from the Kaylons, run into Kelly, Claire, John, Talla, and Claire's sons. Kelly explains to them how none of this was supposed to happen. It only happened because the memory wipe didn't work and she decided not to go on a second date with Ed. The Kaylon weren't defeated and now they are destroying as much as they can.

John leads them to the resistance to the Kaylon. It is lead by Alara Kitan. They get from her something that they need to help reset things back to the way they were. They leave as the Kaylon finds them. Alara, the rebel fighters, and the rebel base are destroyed. Ed, Kelly, and the others escape but the Kaylong are hot on their trail.

Didi Lawrence (Quinn Cummings) suspects that Phil Ames (Randy Powell), a friend of her parents, might be a vampire. She tells her older sister Nancy (Helen Hunt) but Nancy thinks that her sister has just watched too many horror films. Nancy reconsiders her opinion after her friend Julie is found dead.

Nancy's first encounter with Phil and subsequent one give her reason to think that there might be something to Didi's theory. She breaks into Phil's cabin and looks around. Phil confronts her about the break-in later on and shows her how wrong Didi was about his dark side.

Viva Bilko

Bilko, Papparelli, Zimmerman, and Doberman go to Tiajuana, Mexico to have some fun. They get robbed of their money, their papers, and their clothes. The guards at the gate won't let them back into the United States. The bandits who took their clothes rob a bank wearing their uniforms which complicates things further. One of the bandits looks just like Doberman. Bilko and his men try numerous schemes to get back into the United States.

Thoughts

There are no other soldiers in this episode other than the ones named above.

This was a decent episode. I don't love it but it was good. It was also kind of ridiculous.

Employee of the Month

Beast Boy wants to get a moped but he doesn't have enough money to buy one. He gets a job at Mega Meaty Meat, after trying and failing at a few other jobs. He accept the job offer, despite being a vegetarian, after learning that if he is named employee of the month that he will be given a moped.

Beast Boy soon learns that something isn't quite right about Mega Meaty Meat. It is a front for an alien who plans to blow up the Earth. Beast Boy can't let that happen even if it means not being named Employee of the Month.

The Chase

Captain Picard gets a visit from Professor Galen, his elderly archaeology teacher. Galen is working on something big and wants Picard's help. Picard is tempted but can't abandon the Enterprise for months or possibly years to help out Galen. The old archaeologist departs disappointed in Picard.

Galen hasn't traveled far when his shuttlecraft is attacked. The Enterprise rushes in to help but Galen has sustained serious injuries and dies soon afterwards. Picard examines the datafiles aboard the shuttle and determines that Galen was working on something very important. He has the Enterprise divert off its planned course and digs further into Galen's work.

Yong-soo sends his men off on a wild goose chase and then leaves with what cash he's got. He holes up in a hotel but his men come to get him because the head cartel has figured out where he's at. He falls asleep during the car ride. He wakes only to find himself locked in the backseat of the car. There is a large truck heading straight for the car.

Dong-ha and Eun-joo go to see their kids in the hospital. Deuk-soo is there with them. He fills them in on how things are going. Dong-ha asks Eun-joo to stay there, keep an eye on the kids, and trust him to take care of things.

Alan Maxwell (Cliff Robertson) owner of radio station KXKIV makes contact with a being from another galaxy hours before he is supposed to attend a banquet honoring him. Carol Maxwell (Jacqueline Scott), Alan's wife. insists that he go to the banquet.
